About Magnet Balloting:
While Springfield Public Schools primarily assigns elementary and middle school students to schools based on the student’s residential address, there are limited opportunities for parents/guardians to apply for an elementary or middle school that is outside of their neighborhood. These schools are called magnet schools and like the name suggests, they “attract” students based not on their address but on their particular educational “focus” (for examples: STEM, The Arts, Global Communication and more).

These schools include:

Elementary Schools:

German Gerena Montessori Magnet (Preschool through 5th grade).  Balloting for children who will be 3 on or before September 1, 2018.

Kensington International Magnet School (Kindergarten through 5th grade).  Balloting for children who will be 5 year olds on or before September 1, 2018.
