In 2020, the Diversity Inclusion Racial Equity (DIRE) leadership team was formed. It is a collaboration between the Springfield Education Association, the Springfield Federation of Paraprofessionals, the Pioneer Valley Project and the Springfield Public Schools Administration. This team works to enhance five areas within Springfield Public Schools:
- Policies and Procedures
- Professional Development
- Curriculum
- Recruitment, Hiring and Retention
- Portrait of a Graduate
In the fall of 2022, several schools will pilot school-based DIRE teams with a focus on strategic professional development.
