SPS Kicks Off School-Based Vaccination Clinics
Posted on 09/22/2021
Today at Central High School, Springfield Public Schools - Massachusetts, Springfield Department of Health and Human Services, and Big Y World Class Market hosted the first of several upcoming SPS School-Based Vaccination Clinics. Mayor Domenic Sarno, Superintendent of Schools Daniel Warwick, and Big Y President and CEO Charles L. D’Amour joined in a press conference this morning recognizing this partnership that provides on-site vaccination clinics for all SPS middle and high school students.

A group of students from Allysa Fialho’s 11th-grade Advanced Placement English class at Central High School created the slogan “Vax the Field” for the SPS vaccination campaign. With “the field” referring to Springfield, the slogan seeks to emphasize the importance of community in fighting the spread of COVID-19.

Students vaccinated during this event and all upcoming events are required to provide documented parental consent for vaccination.
