LaTonia Monroe Naylor was born in Springfield and was educated in school districts throughout the world as the daughter of a military man before returning to Springfield for middle and high school. She is a Central High School graduate of the Class of 1998. She received her Masters of Science in Nonprofit Management and Philanthropy and Certificate of Board Governance and Volunteerism from Bay Path College in 2012 and Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Our Lady of the Elms College in 2003.
Ms. Naylor has co-founded two nonprofit organizations; (2018) Parent Villages Inc., (2006) VITAL Center, Inc., and advised several nonprofit start-ups, she currently serves in the roles of Director of AmeriCorps and adjunct professor at Springfield College and Worcester State University.
Ms. Naylor continues to volunteer much of her time as a mentor to youth and young adults, actively in her church and community, establishing initiatives such as computer learning centers, youth summer programs, and other initiatives.
Ms. Naylor also serves as an at-large elected member of the Springfield School Committee, Vice-chair of the MASC (Mass Association of School Committees) Division 10: Diversity, Inclusive, Equity Committee, appointee on DESE’s RIAC (Racial Imbalance Advisory Council), Board Chair of Parent Villages, Inc., and board member of Young Scholars Fund, Inc., and Springfield Partners for Community Action. She also sits on several educational and community-driven steering committees for various Springfield schools and the district.
LaTonia is married to Pastor Mah’dee Naylor, Sr. and is the proud mother of their four beautiful children.
Ms. Naylor is a member of the BusinessWest 40 Under 40 Class of 2016 and Massachusetts Commonwealth Unsung Heroines Class of 2020.
