Biography
LaTonia Monroe-Naylor is a lifelong Springfield resident and an accomplished nonprofit and business leader with deep roots in the community and a long-standing commitment to supporting youth, families, and community-based organizations. A proud graduate of Springfield Central High School, she has served on the Springfield School Committee since January 2018, bringing a practitioner’s lens shaped by lived experience, organizational leadership, and direct community engagement.

LaTonia is a graduate of Our Lady of the Elms College and Bay Path University and is a published author with a strong background in nonprofit management, financial oversight, and trauma-informed, culturally responsive leadership. Her professional experience reflects a sustained focus on organizational sustainability, fiscal responsibility, and equity-driven systems that respond to the needs of diverse communities.

As a school committee member, LaTonia is deeply committed to strengthening public education through equity-centered decision-making, student well-being, and authentic partnerships between schools, families, and the broader community. Her leadership is grounded in collaboration, accountability, and a belief in the transformative power of public education to improve outcomes for all students.
