Dozens of Springfield Public Schools families took part in the first Super Saturdays & Sundays forum of the school year, held at the Central Library branch and focused on early literacy. Families received tips and resources to support their children’s learning, entered raffles, won door prizes, and received free books for students. Library staff also helped families register for library cards on site.

Superintendent Dr. Sonia Dinnall and district leaders spoke with families, answered questions, and listened to their ideas and concerns. Interpreting was provided by district family liaisons in Haitian Creole, Arabic, Vietnamese, Spanish, Somali, and other languages.

Dr. Dinnall will continue hosting Super Saturdays & Sundays throughout the year in partnership with Springfield City Library. The next forum will take place on Sunday, November 2 at 4 p.m. at Forest Park Middle School, with a focus on Middle School Transformation – Joyful Journeys.
