About our School District
Our school system is large and diverse, with approximately 26,000 students, about 4,500 employees, and more than 60 schools. Along with strong basic skills programs, enrichment and extracurricular activities also add depth and scope to the overall educational program. Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs of all—not just some—of our students.

Daniel J. Warwick began his career with Springfield Public Schools more than 40 years ago and has a wealth of experience as a teacher, principal and administrator. Rising through the ranks, Mr. Warwick's keen expertise, spirit of collaboration and unwavering commitment has earned him a national reputation as a leader in education. As Superintendent of Springfield Public Schools, Mr. Warwick oversees every aspect of the District, which encompasses nearly 26,000 students, approximately 4,500 employees, nearly 60 schools, and an annual operating budget of about $500 million.
